Miranda will be signing copies of her latest book The Best of Miranda at Waterstones, Piccadilly (020 7851 2400) on Monday 15 December 2014 at 5:00pm. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment; access to the queue will be on a first come, first served basis!
Miranda is to release her first-ever comedy stand-up DVD. Miranda Hart: My, What I Call, Live Show was recorded earlier this year at London’s O2 Arena, as part of her nationwide sell-out tour. The DVD will be released on 17 November and is also offered as a download to own. It is currently available to pre-order now from BBC Shop.
This exclusive to DVD recording captures all the excitement and silliness of Miranda’s tour – in the first time she has performed stand-up since the success of her BBC One sitcom Miranda.
Miranda said: “It was amazing to have the chance to do an arena stand-up tour. I hope people have the ball that me and the audience did recording this DVD when watching it.”
Viewers can expect plenty of laughs, larks and audience interaction. The Queen of comedy invites everyone to take part in a giant party with her, while sharing her unique observations on everyday life and revealing hilarious and worryingly completely true anecdotes about her own mishaps and misdemeanours. All in all it’s such fun!
In addition to the 90 minute live show, the DVD extras also include an exclusive behind-the- scenes film showing all the backstage action and a chance for fans to meet Miranda’s dog Peggy.
For the first time Miranda is giving an access-all-areas VIP backstage pass to Miranda the sitcom.
The Best of Miranda contains the full scripts of her six favourite episodes (including her original revises and annotations) so that you can, if you wish to, cast your family to re-enact choice moments in your living room. The book also includes Miranda’s own account of just what goes in to the process of writing, rehearsing and filming, hilarious gossip from the making of the sitcom, previously unpublished photographs and material which didn’t make the final edits.
Other extras – or “tit bits”, as Miranda prefers to call them – include recipes for Gary’s favourite cakes, cringeworthy childhood photos of our favourite comedian, a step-by-step guide to making your own Fruit Friends and Vegetapals and a ‘Marry Gary Board Game’.
Miranda says, “I have collated six of my favourite sitcom scripts and only gone and put ‘em in a book with introductions, behind the scenes gossip and some extra tit bits. I hope the lovely people who have watched and supported my show will enjoy this book what I wrote.”
The Best of Miranda is a beautiful and hilarious book which will delight Miranda’s many fans and earn her many new ones. It will be published as a full colour hardback and ebook on 23 October 2014.
